First Penny Series Book – “I Don’t Owe You a Penny! A Book about Coping with Bullies”
(Age 4 and up – even the adults like it!)

Authors Note to Parents, Caregivers, Kids and Teachers:

For those of you who have bought the book, did you find the "frog" in every illustration with the bully?

Why the "frog" is so important in the story:

The frog represents someone who is not capable to speak up for themselves in a bullying situation. Can you think about who may be unable to stand up against a bully?

Many people have no means to stand up against a bully and this can include people such as elderly persons, a person with a handicap or disability, a baby, a child, an animal, an employee afraid of their supervisor or a person who faces a group of bullies who may be "ganging" up on them - these are just some examples of instances where a bullied person may be incapable to stand up for themselves.

When you read the story, remember to think about how one person's actions can affect another person's fate or outcome.

Did the frog become free and if so, how did that happen?
