Take the Stairs!

I often drive by a portable sign that someone has decided to use to bless others with thought provoking questions and phrases.  Recently, the sign read:

"You don't have to see the whole staircase to take the first step."

This is an encouraging message on several fronts.  First, we don't need to know EVERYTHING or have it all figured out or perfectly planned to move in a forward and upward direction - or to take the first step.  Having faith gives us courage to take a step.  Second, it encourages us to know that life is a journey or "staircase" full of steps we can take - steps that will lead us to the top where our full potential awaits.  It is there and along the way that we can look back in awe at how far we have come.  Each step can take us closer to a personal goal or a dream.  

Taking a step without knowing or controlling the outcome of what's next is scary and exciting and doable!

So, next time you have a choice - take the stairs, one faith filled step at a time and enjoy the journey.  It'll be worth it!
